Hiding in the tall grass

First exciting find of the summer! Well not that the little skipper wasn't , but it's a viceroy butterfly hiding in the tall grass in the far back yard. Or as the husband calls it - the north forty. There is a strip of tall grass he let go for a mini meadow that was simply too wet to mow in the spring. It's mostly grasses , and well hay since this once was the house and orchard of a 500 acre farm. We were dragging the hose up to water a hemlock we bought to replace the pine that had to be taken down last year due to blight of some sort , and I was looking around to see if there was anything interesting in it , and there it was! Much better than the minions of aphids on the weeds in the out of control flower bed nearby.
