An ordinary life....

Spiderman...

Backblipped

Having recovered from the nightmare journey to get here it was time to get up and about and on with the activities.

First up was the indoor climbing wall.

Jordan turned out to be a bit of a spiderman, the rest of them less so, but Ally did win the prize for being the most glamorous climber in the place.  She did brilliantly considering her fear of heights and very long, red glitter fingernails!  The instructor was brilliant with Andrew, talking him through the climbing techniques and the colour coding of the hand and foot hols.  Much to his and our delight, he made it to the top.  So proud of him as it required much physical effort on his part and getting over his fear of heights.  Well done Andrew!

Alan reached the top too, losing a shoe on the way!  David got there too so massive pats on the back all round :-))

After lunch everyone except Lola and me went out on Kielder water on the motor cruiser.  I volunteered to stay at the chalet so I could have some relaxing time to myself with Lola as wasn't sure how she would be being left on her own in a new place.

The guys had a great time on the water, Andrew even got to have a go at piloting the cruiser.  Another step up in his self-esteem.  Brilliant!  :D  Meanwhile I spent the afternoon making birthday cards for this lovely pair who just happen to be celebrating their 5th and 1st birthdays respectively on the same day!  Siblings who share a birthday, what are the chances of that I wonder?

After their boat trip, they guys popped into the Visitor Centre on Kielder Water, and when they returned Andrew presented David and me with a bag containing a thank you gift - a very cute little sheep who stands on bouncy legs and a bag of treats for Lola, as well as a lovely thank you card that Ally helped him write.  He is such a thoughtful lad.  It took all my strength not to burst into tears.

They then all headed to a local pub for dinner leaving David, Lola and I to our own devices.  This involved a "dinner" of different cheeses, oatcakes and fruit.  It was rather delicious.  Oh and some wine of course ;-)

Andrew returned just after 11pm.  He'd gone back to Alan's chalet after the pub where they ended up watching The Greatest Showman, all joining in with the singing and Andrew even dancing at one point, which Alan apparently found hilarious.

They are having a great time and it makes my heart happy.
