Busan

Back blip

Busan is the second largest city in South Korea. We visited this city 10 years ago and are absolutely amazed at the development that has taken place in that space of time.

Today we visited Haedong Yonggungsa Temple. Another temple, again by the sea, with plenty of steps, but with statues of Buddha this time.

Then on to Dongbaekseom Island to visit APEC House which was built in 2005 for the APEC Economic Leaders Meeting, a lovely setting surrounded by pine trees with views of the sea and the skyscraper buildings in the distance. A friendly little dog, one of the few that we have seen on this trip, came and said hello to members of our group.

We sailed into port under the 24.000 foot Gwangan Grand Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in Korea. On sailing out late evening, we saw the show of specular changing  coloured lights.
