The Sky Tonight

Whilst it was a long day at work today, I'm not used to working 9-5 anymore, it was a good day.  Anita who is the other secretary that I'm job sharing with, and who works remotely from home on Thursdays and Fridays, came over for the day, together with Bex who is our new manager who started a couple of weeks ago.  Bex will be in charge of marketing, writing new policies and also compliance of the CQC (Quality Care Commission).   Along with Maria, we all spent the morning going through the procedures and the computer programme, also discussing things that would make our job sharing role easier.

At lunch time Nik treated us all to lunch at Nando's, albeit he wasn't with us as he's on a course for the rest of this week, but it was really nice of him and good quality time getting to know new colleagues.  We re-convened after lunch, minus Bex who only works until 2.30pm, and covered quite a lot so now I feel ready to put it into practice.

I didn't get home until nearly 6pm, but as dinner was in the slow cooker, I was able to sit out in the garden with Alan until Xena got home - she was late as she'd decided to walk from school which is in the centre of Brighton, to the marina as she wanted to book some boating activities for when her boyfriend arrives next week - he's also coming to stay with us!  Unfortunately, she couldn't find the place she was looking for, and decided to carry on walking home along the undercliff walk.  I don't think she realised how long a walk that was, and she was very hot and tired when she got home at nearly 7pm.  We'll take her to the marina at the weekend and show here where she needs to go.

I wanted to go for a walk myself after dinner, but Xena said she had a lot of homework to do, so she stayed home while Alan and I walked from the top of Saltdean, down into Rottingdean and up onto Beacon Hill Nature Reserve.  I timed it for sunset and this was taken when it was at it's best - the building to the right is the Blind Veterans facility for visually impaired veterans.

It was a lovely walk and a lovely sky :-)
