IN THE SWING

Both a bit of a frustrating day but also a good one.

I was forgetti,ng it was July and decided to take G to Watershead at Ambleside with the aim of getting the little ferry over to Wray Castle.

After parking the car and paying exorbitant parking fees we noticed a large queue for this little ferry, then at the ticket office there was a massive queue with coach parties just unloading.

Abandoned the expensive car parking ticket, jumped in the car and headed north.  Decided in the end to go Armathwaite Hall for lunch and a wander round their grounds as G can manage that.  Well I forgot to turn left over the bridge the Animal Park and ended up going  round The Lakes Distillery, in a circle, twice!!!

We got there, went to the Brasserie and had a really lovely lunch.  Then went for a walk round the grounds.  It was rather too bright for photography really but, never say never.

The grounds are lovely and you get glimpses of Bassenthwaite Lake.  On going round the grounds I came across this swing and just had to have a go on it.

The photo was actually taken by G, but it was my camera and I set it up.  I've chosen this one as my face is in the shade hee hee and he's caught me in swing mode, honest I'm not just sitting there.

Then headed home again.  Decided to drive down through the Lakes. Phew what a mistake.  First we got stuck behind a cyclist because there was a large coach and a mini bus who just couldn't get past with the twists and turns in the road.  Then immediately we left him behind we got stuck behind a tractor, then after that another tractor!!!!!  Didn't get above 20 miles an hour between the A591 at Thirlmere and Windermere!!!!!!!

Ah well, we got home eventually.

Still no laptop.  Rang them up again, even though they'd promised to phone me.  The manufacturers have confirmed they have received it and the engineers are working on it.  It's going to need a new hard drive apparently and it's only two months old!!!!!!  CNL have said they have take a copy of everything on it, so when they get it back it won't take long.

It's rather difficult having to use Hubby's steam driven laptop, especially as he has quite a few things he needs to do on it at the moment (that's a bit unreasonable isn't it heehee hee hee ).  Ahh well at least I have that option.

This is my entry for Wide Wednesday and the theme is long.  It was taken with a wide angle lens.  AS to long, well there is a long branch, with long ropes for the swing and Armathwaite Hall is at a long shot.  Thank you very much to BobsBlips for hosting and for the encouragement in using the wide angle lens much more often.

Now to do the washing up - exciting life I lead huh!!!!

Take care everyone, see you all tomorrow.
