The Pepper Patch

A Parade of Many Colors

Went to the Village 4th of July parade this morning. Bright and sunny and summer hot, there were high school bands; boy/cub/girl scouts; community groups; drum and bugle corps; old cars; veteran groups; bag pipes; fire trucks; Shriners on Segways instead of clown cars; people of many ages and sizes and shapes and colors wearing a variety of cultural dress and speaking many languages - all proudly displaying our flag. It was a morning and a sense of solidarity I desperately needed ... and the adventure continues.
