DON'T MIND IF I DO!

We had some business to attend to in Bath today, so decided to go down on the train, which we always enjoy.  We were there in plenty of time, so had a meander through the city, but even at 10.00 a.m. it was rather crowded - we guessed that many of the people were tourists, as they, too, were ambling along.

After a coffee stop and having taken a few photographs, we completed our business and then decided to treat ourselves to lunch.  We went into a Hall & Woodhouse a pub that was away from the city centre and had a wonderful meal.  I was trying to stick to my new eating plan, so after speaking to Joby, one of the waiters, recommended a “Buddha Bowl”, which consisted of sage-roasted squash, crunchy slaw, turmeric-roasted cauliflower, courgette ribbons, red quinoa, spinach, roasted chickpeas, pickled red onions and pomegranate seeds.  I had some avocado as an extra together with chicken breast - it was delicious and very filling, so well done, Job!

Mr. HCB is on a “seafood” diet (normally that means he sees food and eats it) and today he had Badger beer-battered fish with triple-cooked chips, mushy peas and tartare sauce, which he said was delicious too.  He also decided to have a Badger beer, as he realised he wasn’t driving and I did encourage him - so here he is saying “Cheers”!  We have just realised we have a Hall & Woodhouse pub near Waitrose, in Swindon, so I have no doubt will visit there sometime after doing our shopping.

We then ambled back down to the station, doing a little retail therapy on the way.  We were shocked  to see that the Kitchens Cook Shop in Quiet Street was closing, but were told that it was re-opening later in the year under a new brand, Pro Cook - but of course, had to buy something, as it is, or was, our favourite kitchen shop.

Now we are home and have been sitting in the garden to cool off.  All in all, a lovely day - and doesn’t the day feel much better when the sun is shining?  My collage, in as an extra shows our meals, the obligatory shot of Bath Abbey, the wonderful street decorations and a sign outside a restaurant named Absurd, with an American flag and greetings on a board in the window.  I can only 9 out of 10 for the spelling of “Fourth” - but I echo the sentiments for all my lovely American Blip friends, but spelled correctly, of course!

     love well, sleep well,
if one has not dined well.”

P.S.  Thank you for all your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's Blip - with apologies for not commenting back, but I was out at a training meeting at the Radio Station.
