Sgwarnog: In the Field

Metro

A visit to Newcastle wouldn't be complete without a blip of some bridges, so I made a detour along the Quayside when I walked from my hotel to the conference venue this morning. For a change, I'm focusing on the three bridges furthest upriver: the Queen Elizabeth II Metro Bridge, complete with Class 994 Metrocar; the King Edward VII Rail Bridge and Redheugh Bridge.

Post-conference I wandered back down to the station and spied a ghost sign on the side of the Tyne Theatre & Opera House which I knew, but which I'd forgotten about and which I'm sure I've never photographed, which is surprising given my interest in early cinema (in extras: Sholl's Tyneside Talkie Theatre extra).

I'm back home now, and back to regular routines.
