Passport to Puglia #8

Oh, no-one knows what goes on
behind closed doors...

This morning we went on an adventure to Grottaglie...a small town renowned for centuries for two things-growing dessert grapes and throwing craft pottery.

The grapes were still ripening on the vine, so we did the rounds of the potter’s studios. As with much ceramica, the work on show swung wildly from clay torture to really rather beautiful pieces...but we bought nothing, enjoying instead a mad dog walk through the old town, delighting at the raddled beauty of the dozing buildings and the mini piazzas carved out from the spiralling maze of alleys.

Later, catching up with news...the sickening sight of our illustrious brexiteer MEPs turning their back on parliamentary opening proceedings...really despicable behaviour...brought down to earth with shame, dread and despair.
