Faded grandeur

Oh. It's very quiet. Just returned from taking son#1 to the aiport - lots of people heading off to Lanzarote and Elvis was in the building. The Elvis lookalike (west Cork style) always seems to appear at Christmas and just lurks and chats in the aiport. Son#2 departed very early this morning with Himself - he was left in Departures still editing the video! Poor chap - it's all happening for him at the moment but his brother is heading down to Bristol tomorrow to give him a hand sorting out his life!!! They will both be working tomorrow at a New Year's Eve bash, running a photo booth. Hard work but the perk is a free bar! Hmmm.

A quiet evening is in order looking through some of my pressies, including some wonderfully diverse books - the Atlas of the Irish Rural Landscape (fascinating); Hollywood Costume based on the current V&A exhibition; Abandoned Irish Mansions 2 (amazing photos) and the biography of Mick Jagger!! We might have to start The Killing 3 too. That's me sorted.

Today's blip is a spot of faded grandeur - a very beautiful Georgian door of a now empty building, spotted as I tootled through Bandon.
