God Bless America!

A the risk of being an old, fuddy duddy......
I am first and foremost, an American.  Yesterday I saw the people where I live, celebrate the birthday of America.    I heard people singing the National Anthem, or God Bless America.  We cheered the fireworks, even the pouring rain, under umbrellas, huddled in carts, cars, or under the eaves of roofs.
Patriotism was on full display, love for this country evident and it moved me to tears.  People were walking up to servicemen and shaking their hands, thanking them for their service.   Regardless of how all those people felt, they recognized that America, with all her warts, is still a great country, a wonderful place to live, with more opportunities to grow, develop and prosper.
When all looks bleak and hopeless, we all need a breath taking experience of love, comradery and friendship.
Thank you to the leaders of OTOW for organizing such a wonderful  night, all 3 bands, the hour of fire works, and the chance to share American Pride with all of the residents,  over 10,000 families.
