Proper Alpine

Dryas octapetala, Mountain avens, in flower now in vast quantities high in the mountains.  In nature it often forms carpets or huge hummocks of growth hugging the rocky ground, the flowers pressed against the foliage, almost stemless.  Not quite so compact in lowland gardens but still good enough to have me longing for the wild places.

A trip into the city for a couple of things this morning, sorry not to connect with Rosiecatwoman, out swimming when I called by on the offchance.   After a post lunch snooze I completed my online Food Hygiene course successfully.   Allotment watered tonight before our weekend away.
