Alpine Foxglove

Digitalis lutea, a plant I have seen in the alps.  Not a true alpine, growing as it does in light woodland below the alpine zone.   It can grow to between two and three feet high but this stray self seeded plant is just a foot or so high .... and showing itself off nicely against a sea of true alpine Campanula cochlearifolia flowers beyond.

Feeling brighter today.  An odd-job morning before producing a home-made chicken pie for lunch.  I indulged my passion for cake by turning out some  little  cakes while the oven was on ... later lemon-iced.  An afternoon with Una - not sure which of us dozed the most, some tv tennis and an hour in the garden made it a full day.   Good.
