Success

The last afternoon of the four half-day summer bike camp ended, as it had started, in sweltering heat. Humidex was something like 40 degrees, with heavy thunderstorms predicted, including "hail the size of nickels".

Ottawacker Jr. took part in the "Pedalheads Parade" where each of the new cyclists got the chance to complete a slalom of obstacles. Given some of them are 4 years old, this might have led to disaster.

But no, they know their stuff do the pedalheads, and every child managed to wend his or her way around the course without incident.

And Ottawacker Jr is riding fluently on his new bike, managing to give the impression of being completely at ease and completely terrified at the same time. Or maybe it's just me who is terrified....

Evening: rushed from the parade to shower off and then made it out to Daaniyal's for a BBQ (his grandmother makes an amazing daal), missed the storm (which had caused a power outage in our neighbourhood) and back home in time for a nightcap.
