Machines

At first we travelled by night but it soon became clear that night and day were all one to the machines. Our party is caught in two minds as to the best way to proceed. The Colonel argues for making a dash to the coast - to minimise the time during which the machines might find us. The Mayor, on the other hand, urges us to travel slowly and carefully, making the most of what cover we find. If we do reach the coast, we hope to find some sort of boat. We can only hope that England stands firm against the machines.
