Meadow brown

Mid morning today, the meadow was literally buzzing - flies, beetles, crickets, bees and butterflies.  I've been seeing an abundance of meadow brown butterflies over the last few weeks, but rarely showing off their open wings, and even more rarely sitting still like this so I could get a number of photos.

But what I particularly liked about this photo is that you can also see on the flower at least six other insects.

After I had prowled around the garden, and W had watered the plants, we spent several hours this afternoon trying to make some order in our gardening shed, with a reasonable amount of success.  W wants to fit some shelves, which will improve the storage space.  Our fundamental problem continues to be our inability to thrown out anything that could be considered remotely useful.
