Winter Hideaway

I’m pretty sure this is a female flattened bark spider, a native of Australia. She’s living inside my letterbox. Judging by the cast skin she’s been there a while, though I hadn’t noticed her before today.

When I went out later to measure her (12 or 13 mm) she had turned around and you can see how she folds her long legs, even when one is missing. I had to use the flash for the second shot. See Extra.
