Columns of Fire

This outdoor heater fascinated me. It was a single column in which a gas flame shot up a metre or more. I took so many shots of it that I couldn’t decide which to use so I combined six of them.

My son and I drove to Christchurch to pick up my daughter. We went shopping together and had lunch at the Riverside Market. The weather was fine, but the wind was too cold for me to walk around the city. Still it was nice to be together. Though I must admit that I felt uncomfortable crushed in queues and kept thinking of Sting’s song “Don’t Stand So Close To Me.” Different reason, however.

I tracked down some clear acid-free photo corners, which I’ll try out in the album (from yesterday’s blip).
