Pond Life

I've realised that I haven't posted a blip from the duckponds for a while, so here's a selection a pics taken this afternoon.

The Moorhens have laid another clutch of eggs, 4 chicks so far and at least 2 more eggs. Neither of the previous two batches have survived so fingers crossed for these little guys.

The cygnets continue to grow at a rapid rate, and after the disasters of the previous two years (2017 - three of five hatched but only one survived. 2018 - six eggs laid sadly none hatched, presumably the sudden change in temperature from freezing to hot affected them) it's great to see that all three hatchlings have survived.

The five ducklings have all grown up and doing well. Couldn't get a photo of them as they kept moving around.

And of course the gulls are still being a nuisance, especially the mouthy black backed gulls.
