Hint of Orange

Thanks to the hard work of the humble ladybird my Philadelphus has survived an invasion of black aphids. Who needs pesticides!

The extras include the larva and pupal forms of said ladybirds. The one issue is the fact that they're harlequin ladybirds and unfortunately not our native ones. Once they have finished with the aphids they will then eat other ladybird eggs and larvae and caterpillars of moths and butterflies. All due to our interference with nature.
