Days of future present

It was hard to choose a photo today as we had such a lovely time: a visit to the Crystal Castle; a stroll around tropical gardens filled with dragonflies and the warm scent of frangipanis; a stunning drive through the lush volcanic hinterland; a sunset walk along an endless beach, as soft and white as icing sugar.

But in the end I chose this picture of mr m walking the kora (3x clockwise while releasing 130,000 prayers by twirling the prayer wheels) at the only stupa in the Southern Hemisphere and one of only 7 in the world. Australia is often perceived as not having much of a past, but I do like the way it boldly claims a future. This stupa was built with the guidance of Tibetan monks, was only opened in October 2012, but has been built to last 1,000 years.
