Cabo Sardāo

Backblip
Another place we always visit when in the Alentejo is Cabo Sardāo. Apart from the stunning coastal beauty, walking along paths of the Rota Vincentia walking route with breathtaking views, there are the nesting storks on the rocks with the chicks quite well developed at this time.

We walked for around an hour loving the quite loud sound of the crashing waves against the rocks down below. Beautiful.

A little bit along the road North is the pretty coastal town of Vila Nova de Milfontes, where we stayed in 2015 on our very first trip to Portugal!

It was pretty quiet with it being a Sunday but the first stop was the ice cream shop and then a wander down along the shore to the viewpoint. The weather was perfect at 22 degrees for a lovely stroll.

Stopped at a Cafe for food and started chatting to a Portuguese couple who emigrated to New Jersey in the early 60s and were back to their old family house for a couple of months. Despite living in America all these years they both still had thick Portuguese accents.

Back to the Monte for some book reading fore out for another delicious meal at a local restaurant. The food this trip has been top notch.
