Border

We have a small border around a terrace where we have a dining table in the garden.. it starts out with the purple irises and as they fade the alchemilla carries on with a few oxeye daisies... and now.. for the rest of the summer.. the penstemon and salvias take over.  It has taken me years to get this continuation of colour in this border but l am delighted with it this year.. I do hope it lasts!

It is a rather weird year as l have dahlias which will be flower before the weekend.. it seems terribly early. I associate them with August and September.. has anyone else thought theirs are early this year?
