If you can't beat them...

Hogweed (Heracleum sphondylium)

The blip isn't taken for the beauty of the Hogweed flower, although I quite like them it is taken for the wasp on the Hogweed.  Nothing strange about seeing insects on flowers somebody is thinking, well I don't think I have seen a wasp feeding on Hogweed before.

Wasps are carnivores getting the sweetness they need/want excreted from the grubs in the nest.  Somebody is now thinking "well why are they such a damned nuisance round sweet foods at a picnic".

They begin to search for sweet foods later in the season as the number of grubs begins to reduce and there isn't enough sweet extract to go round.  For us this is usually the middle of August/early September.  So I am wondering why this one feels the need to top up with something sweet.
