St. Mary's Catholic Church

Our local church was founded in 1793. The graves nearest to the church are quite old and are engraved with the same last names as many of the families still living here. The most famous person buried there is Dr. Samuel Mudd. He was imprisoned for helping John Wilkes Booth after he assassinated President Lincoln.
