Hives in Winter

These bee hives caught my eye from the unmettled road to Sejny. These hives are mostly of the traditional type. They have straw insulation built into the double walls. Polystyrene is no good as somehow the bees manage to dissolve it!

After yesterday's blip I wondered about showing the Russian-German WW1/2 cemetery in Berzniki which has some unexplained aspects, but I didn't want to dwell on the morbid.

Lets hope that the bees find plenty of nectar next year. It rained too much for them to be very productive this year.

I had better do some cooking now, so I'll wish you all a Happy New Year!
