The Brook

There's a small brook runs not too far from the house and every now and then I take the camera down there to see how the area is getting on.  It's mainly overgrown, with a rustic bridge and lots of undergrowth to dig around in for anything interesting. I took quite a few pics but especially like this one of blackberry flowers, complete with obligatory flying creature.

Thanks to Mirana1008 for hosting this week's Wild Flower Week.

After lunch we went to Warwick to see Maureen and Ian.  We had a little discussion whether to watch the tennis or go for a coffee at Nero, the latter won with the caveat of not being out too long and watching Wimbledon on return.  As it ended up such a long match, tie-break on 12-12 in the fifth set, we didn't miss much. Ian was keeping track of the cricket at Lords at the same time, both competitions ending at more or less the same time and us flicking channels to take in the excitement on both.  A great win for England over New Zealand after a nail-biting end that couldn't have been any closer.
