Billy's

Back to Billy's today for brunch. We were so blown away by it last year that I emailed them to make the booking for today on November 5th!!!
And then I emailed them last month to make sure they actually had a booking for us!!
They must have thought I was a super fussy English worrier!!
Before we could go and stuff our faces we had to take Archie to the vet for his check up and worming tablet. I mentioned last year that I love the fact he has his own vet in France. He's got records and everything!!!
I was sad not to see Dr Dishy - a gorgeous cross between George Clooney and David Ginola.
Mr K was less sad!!!!!
We saw a woman who wasn't quite as nice as Dr Dishy - last year he wrapped the tablet up in a sausage and Archie wolfed it down. The woman gave him couple of chances to eat it - straight from her hand which he was having none of - before she yanked his jaw open and shoved it down his throat as hard as she could.
Archie prefers Dr Dishy too!!!
We were too early to go to Billy's so we stopped halfway at a lovely picnic area we discovered last year. We sat out and had cups of tea and lemonade, played charades - quite the experience with Miss L!, and then went for a lovely walk down through some woods.
Then it was on to the lovely Billy's for one of the nicest meals I've had in ages.  Definitely worth booking months in advance!! They do a spectacular brunch buffet with dozens of different dishes, amazing breads and cheeses. And the puddings! Wow!!!!!
We all ate far too much. And then we all ate some more!!
We had to be winched out into the garden to sit in the sunshine and drink our coffee.
Annoyingly as were sat there we discovered a huge swollen infected tick in Archie's armpit. Clearly the fitness to travel inspection by Dr Mean this morning hadn't been that thorough. Not that having a tick means you can't travel but surely she should have found it. Dr Dishy was much more thorough last year.
We decided to go back to the vets to get them to look at it (take it out for us!!) Amazingly in a country where supermarkets are only open for about five minutes a day, the vet was open on Saturday afternoons so after a quick walk down to see the donkeys and the chapel in the orchard we headed back to Courselles.
When we got there the car park was empty and, yay, Dr Dishy was sat at the desk with the receptionist we saw earlier. I explained why we were back just a few hours after leaving and she explained it to Dr Dishy.
He took us into the treatment room and there followed ten minutes of the three of us trying to pin Archie down and hold his leg up in the air, while he tried to get up. It was pretty horrific!!
But Dr Dishy got the tick out eventually and sterilised the wound. And Archie clearly still thought he was nicer than Dr Mean, snuffling up to him and wagging his tail!
We got very hearty Gallic handshakes and Dr Dishy told us there'd be no charge.
I love him!!!!!
We were going to go to Carrefour before heading back to the campsite (another reason we love the vets is that there's a giant Carrefour over the road!!) but we couldn't be bothered! The Little Misses were keen to get back to the pool and I was keen to get back, put some looser clothes on and lay around for a bit!
