Steel Curtain

Jill and I visited Kennywood today to ride Steel Curtain, a massive roller coaster that opened two days earlier. It's 220 feet tall (67m) and has the tallest inversion (197 feet; 60m) in the world and most inversions (nine) in North America. It goes 75 mph (129 kph) and lasts a minute. It's very good! It dominates the skyline and can be seen from practically anywhere in the park. It's a wonderful addition, and I hope it brings in people from all over to this great park.

We waited about an hour and a half after it started testing. It opened really late, 2 p.m., but our wait wasn't too bad considering it was running one train. A second train was added later. We also rode Sky Rocket, which was new to me because it was closed most of last season and reopened yesterday.
