Musings in Summer

Much gardening, including removal of the buddleia. Sorry, one of the buddleias. And a glorious warm day again. I had to sit awhile.
The papers are full of charges of antisemitism against the Labour Party following the Panorama programme. I’ve always been a bit wary of the intensity of this crisis, mindful that enemies within and without the party could easily maliciously conflate JC’s position on Palestine with antisemitism (imagine.. surely they wouldn’t stoop that low).
I’m aware of course that even that anodyne statement is probably antisemitic in someone’s rule book. Typical of the mush that passes into print too easily is this self serving guff from one Richard Zimler where an anonymous friend makes unspecified charges against anonymous organisations. Forensic, eh?
Clearly however, no matter the scale of it, it’s totally unacceptable and old JC is clearly a hapless fool if he can’t deal with it. Blair would have kicked that ball through the back of the net.
I have spoke!
