What a view.......

Our first full day in Edinburgh. I can't believe it was 20 years ago when we first visited!

We had a bit of a soggy start but started at the Real Mary Kings Close so were indoors for a while. It's a preserved 17th century street underneath the council chambers building. Fascinating!

Our next cultural experience was the Bridget Riley exhibition at the Scottish National Gallery. Stunning! Although I'm not a huge fan of abstract art I've always admired her work.

And our final destination was the walk up to Calton Hill and then to the top of the Nelson Monument. The view of Edinburgh from here was fantastic.

Phew! We'd walked miles but it was worth it.
