Wanderings & Witterings

For reasons best known to themselves, at their last timetable revision First Bus rerouted the service from Stirling to Glasgow via Cumbernauld (the service I use when travelling to any of these destinations) so that it no longer calls at Cumbernauld Town Centre. Instead it goes through North Carbrain, and the numerous roundabouts along the North Carbrain loop road.

Be that as it may, on one of my bus journeys from home into Glasgow a few weeks ago, I spotted this mural in North Carbrain. It was a new one to me as I certainly hadn't seen it on any of our Ramblers walks, for example, or when passing through Noddyland before.

Had to go to the 'nauld for an eyesight test this afternoon, so got off the bus at Tarbolton Road and visited the mural in person before walking up to the Town Centre and the opticians. I reckon it looks better from the bus!

Eye pupils now the size of saucers thanks to the drops, but no change to my prescription. That's a relief, as well as considerable saving over the cost of a new pair of spectacles.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the highlight of my day.
