It's quite a steep hill, really part of Castle Hill, the mound on which the castle stands. I spent so long in Boots waiting for a prescription, that I was losing the will to live. Happily there is a pub just beyond the top of my shot, called the Castle Tavern, which provided a nice table by an open window, and pleasant beer. It was full of visitors from other countries trying to understand the menu. But none of them tried to run in to me.
