Vernon’s dahlias live on

The damp windy weather which ultimately and reluctantly turned to rain prevented any further progress on painting the fence. Instead, after the gym I went to the drippy allotment to plant out the rest of the leeks and weed the brassicas. I also did some watering which was still necessary despite what was falling, with little enthusiasm, from the sky.

We went to see Richard Digance this evening at the St Edith’s Folk Club. What a performance. This is the first time we’ve seen him although we knew of him. Great songs, funny stories and more.

Not much opportunity for a blip, except that Ann and Paul’s dahlia looked resplendent. I believe these dahlias came from Vernon’s plot. He passed away but his dahlias live in. This is the second in a series of great flowers at the allotment.
