Soldiering On

After a day of incredible sloth, I realised that I needed to get out of the house.
I desperately wanted to climb a huge hill and walk until my legs were numb.
It was too late in the day, so hubby and I got lost in rural Perthshire looking for a riverside walk, and eventually landed up in a forest walk.

Much as I dislike all things with more than 4 legs - ladybirds, butterflies, dragonflies and bumblebees excepting - I actually am becoming quite intrigued by entomology and like finding out about beasties I photograph.

I believe this is Beris vallata, the Common Orange Legionnaire, a type of European Soldier Fly.

Someone correct me if I am wrong...
