Lavender Festival

We, along with thousands of Denverites, attended the  Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms Lavender Festival. We thought we were being smart by arriving soon after it opened, but that did not save us from the crowds. I think everyone was out to beat the predicted heat of the afternoon. The Farms is beautiful, but there were far too many people for good photos of the festival flower. I did, however, manage to get some nice shots in the butterfly house. It too was very crowded, but the subjects themselves were very cooperative. I think a return trip on a non-festival weekend is definitely in order before we depart this area.
