A Day Worth Recording

By Cheeseminer

Hmmm...

An image likely to result in a mix of horror, amusement and derision from those who know me.

Went to a charity tea party this afternoon and came back with a few things from the bit's-and-bob's stall, including this mug and matching biscuit tin.  I'm sure they'll produce some interesting comments at DellCons :o)

For those who don't know me...  For an enthusiast of modern / 'designer' boardgames Monopoly has a special place of sadness and despair.  Despair mainly because somehow it still manages to be most people's concept of what a boardgame is.  This is equivalent to the 1935 Austin 7 being everyone's expectation of what a car is in 2019.

A bit of background - Monopoly was a rip-off of a game called "The Landlord's Game".  The earlier game was designed to illustrate the pain caused by capitalist landlords.

So, yes, Monopoly is designed to be a bad experience.
