Selling point

The first thing I saw when we came to look at our prospective home for the first time was this tree. It rose tall and majestic, dominating the street. I wanted to be near that tree, and it helped convince me to buy. It's a bit raggedy now, but there are hopefully a good few years left in it. 

It's seen a lot, this tree. The scandals, the births, the laughter, the students coming to live. The students building a skate park. The students getting evicted. 

I'm not looking forward to the view once it dies.
