Backblip: Turenne

One of the highlights of the trip to Tauriac was the discovery of Turenne. We did not stop but we have decided to return sometime to explore the place. It offers a free motorhome aire and  un petit train to transport the lazier visitor up the mount.

One of the (many) Plus Beaux Villages of France. Probably will replay a visit quite handsomely.

I snapped this shot from a lay-by nearby, where we stopped on our return journey in order to quiet some annoying rattles. Like many such lay-bys in France, it was not a pleasant stop. Not sure what the French have against building (and using!) Public Conveniences... I am developing quite a thing about the many Frenchmen seen peeing by the roadside. One such stopped his motorhome in a layby yesterday and got out to pee with great abandon by the side of the road. Now, why couldn't he use his own private facility in the van? Anyway, this lay-by at Turenne was pretty sordid, with soiled paper tossed all over the place.  If you want to visit Turenne, please don't  pay a visit here!
