Samaria Gorge

Early morning rising in order to get the bus up to Omalos from where the Samaria Gorge can be entered for walks.

The Samaria Gorge is one of Crete's gems for tourists; the 18 kms of walks from Omalos down to Agia Roumeli on its South coast, from where one can away only by a ferry.. up to Chora Sfakia or up to Paleochora; both on the South coast at the Libyan Sea.

May add a little more later, must dash off now
..... added some more photos from the long trail of Samaria Gorge, what is for many like a torture tour as it's all rolling stones on the descending path, what starts at the hight of 1100 metres and ends at sealevel.
The photo of the girl walking on the wooden path along the river and thro' the narrow passage is at the famous narrow passage of the Samaria Gorge named The Iron Gates (Siderenies Portes).
A picture from the ferry, what's part of the deal for the passage thro'  that gorge and the final part is a bustrip to one of Crete's main cities, Chania for me.
