Life through the lens...

In the shade.

We wouldn’t normally have been out walking today,  ( far too hot) but as this was the nearest walk from home our group has done, we thought we just had to support the leaders, as we are always complaining that the walks start to far away.
The start point was Farnley Hall Park. Then down to Cockersdale, and along the Leeds Country way which followed Tong Beck through the woods. We were certainly glad of the shade.
Up to Tong village, and then across towards Fulneck.
We stopped for lunch by this little bridge across the stream. Plenty of shade again.
Then decided not to climb the hill up to Fulneck, but followed the West Leeds Green Gateway Trail back along the valley and Pudsey Beck, and finally back to the car park at Farnley Hall Park.
A very hot 5/6 miles. So glad most of it was in the shade.
I have never been more pleased to see the car.
We drove straight home, and it was a cool bath for me. Just lovely to lay down in the water and relax.
Very glad our cottage is so nice and cool in summer.
It was 40C when we got back to the car. Dropped to 38C on the way home.
Will certainly be watering again this evening.

A couple of extras.
One of a notice board and map, and one of our walking friends. There were 14 of us. Certainly a good turnout for the hottest day of the year.
