19.9C with sunny sunshine and some cloud. SE/SSE wind to 29 mph with gusts to 37 mph.

Fergus and I went round to the end of the old quay in the harbour to watch the ferry leave this morning. There was a lot of cloud which hadn't yet burned back.

Matthew Sweet looked at book frontispieces, titles and marginalia with Dennis Duncan. There was some heavy discussion about John Milton poetry too. I'd have been better with Radio 2.

Fergus and I went for our walk after lunch. We went round to the harbour, had a potter about the old quay, then carried on along Hall Street and the shore side of the park and Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House. We turned there and came back the same way then along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the Picture House. Tide was way out and nowhere handy for Fergus to have a dip. I gave him fresh water when we got home and he had a lie down on the slate floor in the kitchen for a while. He is now snoozing near an cool room.

Zea Servant has loaded and left.

Neolithic Revelations. A lack of Neolithic dental floss proved to be a boon for archaeologists. Penny Bickle and Jim Leary share some surprising findings with Hetta Howes (who was so naive about archaeology that she should never have presented this program).

Afternoon music ... The Band from Rockall, eponymous. Runrig, The Story.
