Temperance

‘Take heed to thy body: be temperate without. Take heed to thy soul: be temperate within. Get temperance of lip, life, heart, and thought.’ ~ Spurgeon (2 Peter 1:5-6)

Oh, that I could soak in these words and curb the faint flaws of my nature. This morning I was reminded of the small and sometimes omitted blemishes in my armor. The honest, humble me, seeks to honor this life, but there lies within me the ability to deny the brokenness and to hide from the truth. So it does my soul good to be reminded of such things, and to face the mirror with open eyes. Father, thank you for never wandering from my side, and for forever loving me, flaws and all.

Pray on,
Eddy
