The guggenheim

A daytrip to Bilbao. A walkable city with a great history and lovely people. It reminded us of Glasgow with sunshine. Although when we were driving back out of the city we hit torrential rain, thunder and lightening, bringing true what someone had said to us at the airport - that coming from Scotland we would feel right at home in the Basque Country.

A highlight was seeing the Guggenheim, designed by Frank Gehry. Just fantastic. One of those buildings you want to photography from every angle (see extras!).

We also spent time at the Azkuna Zentroa, a refurbed industrial building with a bit of wow - including on the rooftop a swimming pool (which we didn't visit) and a bar (which we did).
