The Jacobite

I waited about 20 minutes for this train; I was there early but thought that I had made a mistake with the timetable so moved from my vantage point when the the smoke and steam appeared wraith-like from the trees.

I had already put my camera back in the car and was no longer at my vantage point; the parapet was now in the way so all I could do was point and shoot, hence the sub-standard composition.

But it was so exciting!  I love engine-power and when it powered up for the gradient it was thrilling, an emotional response which generated my wide grin for the next few minutes.  The train's passengers must have thought me demented, except of course they were on the train for similar reasons, perhaps.
