Saturday: Blowhole

We walked along the Golden Spruce trail to see where the spruce......wasn't.  It's a lovely trail but the spruce was felled some year ago by an environmental activist who was protesting against excessive tree felling.  His method of protesting seems a little counterproductive to me.

From there, we drove on to the north shore, walking along the length of Agate Beach.  The stones were the most amazing colour, particularly when wet.  On the walk to the blowhole, we bumped into Peter and Lynne who had been on our trip with us this week.

After a stop at Pure Lake, and a rest at our accommodation, we had dinner in the pub at Port Clements.  Haida Gwaii is not blessed with an abundance of facilities so meals have to be planned.  After dinner, we played a bit of pool but cut it short when some of the locals, a bit the worse for where, got a bit over involved in our game..........

Extras:
i) Agate Beach
ii) Totem pole
iii) Reasons to drive slow
