Quod oculus meus videt

A Day in the Loft

Our loft is the repository for everything we don't use, but want to keep, just in case.  At various times it's in need of a sort out, as the space diminishes. On this occasion, I also decided to board the last area of the loft, which up until now had been covered in an old shelving systems boards and was, too put it mildly, not very safe.

It required a lot of moving of contents, amongst which is a box and contents we won't use again, but has such sentimental value as to be impossible to get rid of.  Inside this box is L's wedding dress from 32 years ago.  She joined me in the loft and tried on the belt that cinched in her waist on the dress.  To her credit she could still fasten the belt all these years later.

The old shelving has now been taken to the tip, along with other stuff that has become of no use, after being in the loft for so long.  The boarding will be finished off tomorrow and then a final check of the lofts contents to see what else can go.
