Painted lady!

Apparently there are a sudden glut of these butterflies as the conditions this year are just right for them! My garden is no exception and my two big lavenders were again hosting at least half a dozen each! None in the back garden. There were also a couple of white butterflies twirling round each other! Such a lovely sight!

Can you see its proboscis like a long straw going down into the floret it has chosen!
