Look closely now...

...and you may be able to see that most of those white horses are in fact swans. (Not one of my better blips - it was one of those days when my heart sank after I had downloaded my photos - but this will remind me of the day and it will just have to do.) T and I had never seen so many swans together as here, off the coast at Musselburgh - there were well over a hundred. We couldn't think where they had all come from, unless it was the annual swan outing for the Lothians. Some of them were quite far out from the shore, where I had  no idea that they would go and others were cheerfully eating seaweed which must have been quite different from pond weed.
