Oran

Susan’s latest painting commemorating Oran’s entry to the world. Oran arrived very prematurely in May instead of his predicted arrival in early July. Suffice to say he’s making good progress and we’re all going to meet the latest addition to the family next week when we’re in Edinburgh.

Oran’s parents are committed environmentalists, so the name, which means Green in Gaelic is very appropriate.

We make the long trek from Kent tomorrow. Today has been packed full of preparations as we’re taking Doreen, the oldest and the matriarch of the family at 94 to meet the youngest at 6 weeks, her sixth great grandchild. Susan’s painted name paintings for all her great nephews and nieces along with one for grandson Landon, granddaughter Miya and one for Babe the dog.

FaceTimed Chris in California this evening. Good to catch up with him as we haven’t had a FT conversation since we left California in mid June.

Another reason for going to Edinburgh was to perform at the Fringe with Rock Choir who have two performances a day throughout the Festival with choirs from all over the country. We’re on Tuesday 6th August at 7.20pm. Then we can finally say, we’ve performed at the Edinburgh Fringe! We also have other shows to see, including Paul Merton and his impro chums so we’re looking forward to a busy week. And a drop or two of Scotch and no doubt a few other beverages.
